Christmas Blanket Pattern

Christmas isn’t too far off. If you were thinking about knitting a blanket or two or five (LOL), I have a free pattern for you. I found this graphic free online. I edited it a bit and converted it in Designaknit. I am sharing the Designaknit .stp and Wincrea .bmp files.

passap blankets

This blanket was knit on the Passap E6000 double bed with technique 186. I can be knit on any electronic machine that has 200 needles (though the finished size will be much smaller). Cast on 88-0-88. Both end needles on back bed (after cast on put a stitch on left back bed end needle). Cast on number 3. Reset the row counter on the lock and knit 250 pattern rows (1000 lock passes). The cast off I use is detailed on this post. The finished size of my blanket is 66″ wide by 78″ long. I used 2/24 doubled for each color.

Geode Knit Blanket Pattern

geode machine knit blanket

The Geode blanket was knit on the Passap E6000. This is my own hand drawn pattern I am sharing for free.

This blanket can be knit on any machine with 200 needles. I knit mine in double bed jacquard on a Passap E6000 T186. This is a large tuck throw with T186. If you want a smaller lap or cot size, knit the same file with T187. It will be smaller and more defined. This blanket can be knit on any electronic knitting machine with 200 needles. Japanese machines will knit a smaller blanket size. Cast on (#3 for Passap), T186, 88-0-88 total of 176 stitches double bed. Both end needles are on the back bed. 250 pattern rows and 1000 actual lock passes. This was knit with 2 strands 2/24 of each color tension 4.3 on both locks (Passap). Finished size 62″ wide by 74″ long knit on Passap with T186.

The “not so fine” print: Do not claim this pattern/digital file as “your” design. Do not share my pattern file or post the digital file online unless it is by sharing the URL link to my website/blog post. You can knit this blanket to sell. Items are knit to sell by small business less than 500 items a year…. I always appreciate sharing of my website name, Herman Hills Farm, when sharing your finished knitted items. …Just hoping others will find some use of my blog/tutorials too. Machine knitting is a dying art. 🙁 Thank you.

Passap Knit Horse Head Blanket

passap blanket reversible

I knit a few of these horse blankets for friends. It was knit on the Passap E6000 with technique 186 which is a tuck double bed 2 color technique. There is no text so the blanket is reversible. The finished size after washing was 64″ x 73.”

The grey and navy blanket was the first one I knit (see photos below). I noticed the muzzle seemed a bit long, so I reshaped and deleted stitches until I got it the way I liked it. I ended up removing rows and modifying a large part of the stitches on the inner design also for more definition. The mustard and white blanket (shown above) is the final design after modifications.
