Pixie Lock Picker<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

What is a Pixie Lock Picker<\/a>? \u00a0You may have seen it featured in Ply Magazine<\/a>. \u00a0The Pixie Lock Picker is a tool which helps to easily open locks while you are prepping fiber. \u00a0When I prep fiber for combing, I always open the tips of the locks before combing. \u00a0This is a must for long wool locks and lamb locks.<\/p>\n

I use to use a flick carder but I have replaced my flick carder with the Pixie Lock Picker. \u00a0My flick carder works good but the\u00a0Pixie Lock makes opening up the tips so much quicker! \u00a0 \u00a0In the photo below, I have photographed the locks prior to flicking (top) and after (bottom). \u00a0I only flicked open the tips.<\/p>\n

The Pixie Lock Picker fastens on my wrist. \u00a0\u00a0It is\u00a0easy to\u00a0pull the lock tips through the tines to quickly open them up.<\/p>\n

The Lock Picker has an adjustable velcro closure so it can connect to something other than your wrist.\u00a0\u00a0I regularly attach mine to the side of my drum carder so I can quickly\u00a0flick locks\u00a0while carding.<\/p>\n

The craftsmanship on this tool is top notch. \u00a0The wood is red cedar and the tines are rust proof stainless steel. \u00a0The Pixie Lock Picker is available\u00a0online\u00a0from Two Twisted<\/a>. \u00a0The shop also makes combs, niddy noddies, and other\u00a0beautifully handcrafted fiber art tools.<\/p>\n
