BABY Blanket Pattern for Electronic Knitting Machine

The “BABY” blanket is the blanket I knit the most for shower gifts. It is simple and you can either chose a color( basic pink, blue, yellow) or use a color to match the nursery decor. It is a simple hand drawn/written text I imported into DAK via Graphic Designer. I am sharing this pattern which can be knit on Passap E6000 or any double bed electronic knitting machine with 200 needles (and ribber). This blanket is knit in double bed jacquard.

I knit my Baby blanket on the Passap E6000 double bed. I have knit it with tech 179 on Passap E6000 knitting machine with 2 strands of 2/24 yarn (double strand of each color). Passap tech 179 with 176 stitches and 500 lock passes on the row counter. Tech 179 is a single bed technique, but I knit this double bed by putting the back lock on N.

The file is .stp for Designaknit and .bmp for Wincrea, or Journal 6. (Use 176 stitches and 250 pattern rows on Wincrea). The download does not have the white borders at the top and bottom. If you want white borders, you can add them by knitting a few rows of white instead of alternating colors at the cast on/cast off of the blanket.

The fine print: You can knit this blanket to sell. Do not claim the pattern as “your” design. Do not share my pattern file or post the digital file online unless it is by sharing the link to my website/blog post. Items are knit to sell by small business less than 500 items a year. I always appreciate sharing of my blog name Herman Hills Farm when sharing your finished knitted items. …Just hoping others will find some use of my blog/tutorials too. Machine knitting is a dying art. 🙁 Thank you.

Hi Cathy, I am glad you like the patterns. I do not have any tutorials for software though I have thought about making some. I use Designaknit. The best advice I can give for learning the software is to read and study the instruction manual which is included with the software under the help menu. It is over 1500 pages, so a lot to learn. I honestly can’t believe how many people don’t read the manual for Designaknit. It is really the only way to really learn the software. 🙂

Thank you for the beautiful patterns. I am trying to see if they would work with a Garter carriage ie in purl/knit texture. I downloaded the Christmas one and the Baby blanket.

I don’t use a garter carriage, so I am not sure how it works with DAK and symbols. The pattern should work fine but you may need to add purl symbols where you want purl stitches. 🙂 I would love to see a photo of your finished blanket. 🙂
